Join us for the showcase of Water Cups, a project by North Street Collective artists-in-residence Karina Faulstich and Seth Garcia
Water Cups is a multi-media project examining the causes and effects of climate change on water systems and peoples in the Mendocino area. During their residency, Karina has created a series of cups using local clay the two have harvested from the Ridgewood Ranch. Using lithography and stamps, Karina incorporates text from poems that Seth has been writing as well as other images inspired by their research and time at North Street Collective. Seth’s collection of Water Poems have been gathered into a booklet which will given out alongside the cups.
Engaging fragments of history and poetic response, Karina and Seth wish to offer a visual and interactive experience that fosters contemplation of our changing experience with water.
