“Eventually, I’d like to develop a body of work that rides the edge between the objective and the subjective.”
Jazzminh has been making expressive figurative paintings for over 20 years. She recently veered of her beaten path into the wilderness of intuitive, elemental, subconscious collage. This represents a complete departure from her previous subject matter and style, and she is now ready to reintegrate painting technique into her practice.
During her residency, Jazzminh seeks to work towards weaving the two opposing processes, intuitive collage and objective painting, into multimedia work authentic to her nature. She will start with a series of small works, each searching for this balance.
